Ronald L. Seigneur Admitted to the AAMLF Forensic & Business Valuation Division

AAMLF's Forensic & Business Valuation Division admitted Ronald L. Seigneur as one of only 28 Charter Members from across the nation. Charter Members were selected on the basis of their national reputation, achievements in litigation support, forensic accounting and business valuation, as well as their having a history of serving AAML Members and their clients in complex financial matters during divorce proceedings with a commitment to integrity in that process.

Ron Seigneur is managing partner of Seigneur Gustafson LLP, based in Lakewood, Colorado, where he specializes in business & intellectual property appraisal, economic damages, financial forensics, professional services firm consulting and taxation. Ron has served as Chief Operating Officer and CFO for a 50 attorney Denver law firm and worked with over 350 professional service firms on a wide range of practice management issues.  He has published over 80 articles on business leadership, succession and exit planning strategies, reasonable compensation determinations, business valuation and related subjects.  Ron has developed & taught a number of management, leadership, and advanced business valuation courses for the AICPA, ASA, NACVA, Association of Legal Administrators, CLE of Colorado, the Environmental Protection Agency, state CPA Societies, and state Bar Associations.   

Ron has significant experience working with complex valuation, commercial damages, forensic accounting, and related litigation support matters, with significant experience as a testifying expert in numerous jurisdictions.  Ron has served as court appointed Special Master, trustee, receiver and arbitrator.  As a co-author of one of the leading treatises on business valuation, he frequently speaks and writes on valuation related issues.   He has experience in a wide range of industry segments, including professional practices, retail, real estate development, construction trades, auto dealerships, high tech, oil & gas, transportation, start-up entities, cannabis industry businesses and intellectual property.  

He is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) with the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA), a Senior Appraiser in business valuation (ASA) with the American Society of Appraisers and holds the AICPA specialty designation of Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV).  In 2014, Ron was inducted as a charter member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Business Valuation & Forensic Services Division. He is currently serving on the membership committee of the F&BV Division.

George Hawkins Admitted to the AAMLF Forensic & Business Valuation Division

AAMLF's Forensic & Business Valuation Division admitted George B. Hawkins as one of only 28 Charter Members from across the nation. Charter Members were selected on the basis of their national reputation, achievements in litigation support, forensic accounting and business valuation, as well as their having a history of serving AAML Members and their clients in complex financial matters during divorce proceedings with a commitment to integrity in that process.

George B. Hawkins, ASA, ABV, CFA

George is President of Banister Financial, Inc, a Charlotte, NC firm specializing in business valuation of privately-held companies, partnerships, and professional practices. Valuations are performed for estates/gifts, divorce, shareholder disputes, purchase/sale, buy-sell agreements, and other instances where an independent valuation if required. Since the 1980’s Hawkins has analyzed and valued business in hundreds of industries, ranging from small companies and professional practices to large companies with multi-state and international operations. He provides expert witness testimony in Federal and State Courts, Arbitration and in IRS cases. He is a frequent author and presenter at continuing education seminars. He has been appointed by courts as an independent business appraiser in excess of 80 times. As well as jointly retained by parties resolving disputes in a large number of other matters.

George is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in Business Valuation with the American Society of Appraisers. He is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) with the American Institute of CPAs. He is a Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder with the CFA Institute.

He, with co-author Michael A. Paschall, is the author of Business Valuation Guide, a 2000+ page business valuations book in its 20th edition (2019) published by Wolters Kluwer.

George is a charter member of the AAML Foundation Forensic & Business Valuation Division. He was previously Head of the International Board of Examiners, Business Valuation with the American Society of Appraisers and prior to that was named Examiner of the Year, International Board of Examiners, by the ASA.

Briggs Stahl Admitted to the AAMLF Forensic & Business Valuation Division

AAMLF's Forensic & Business Valuation Division admitted Briggs P. Stahl, as one of only 28 Charter Members from across the nation. Charter Members were selected on the basis of their national reputation, achievements in litigation support, forensic accounting and business valuation, as well as their having a history of serving AAML Members and their clients in complex financial matters during divorce proceedings with a commitment to integrity in that process.

Briggs P. Stahl, CPA, ABV, CFF, CBA

Briggs is a Partner in the Global Forensics consulting practice at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause. He has spent more than 30 years finding the financial answers in complex legal issues. He is in Tampa, Florida.

He provides expert witness testimony and consulting services related to Family law, Commercial damage claims, Eminent domain, Shareholder and Partnership Disputes, Fraud, Taxation and Valuation. He also serves as a Financial Professional in Collaborative cases or as a Joint Expert Witness.

With over 30 years of court experience, Briggs has over 600 testimony and deposition appearances in taxation, family law, eminent domain, shareholder disputes, fraud, commercial damages, business interruption, employment law and contract disputes. He has been certified as an expert in both State and Federal Court, and has served as a court- appointed expert and as a Special Master on several occasions. Briggs is a frequent presenter and author on the topics of family law, valuation, eminent domain and Daubert challenges.

He is a charter member of the AAML Foundation Forensic & Business Valuation Division. He is also involved with the American Institute of CPAs, the Florida Bar Association, Florida Society of CPAs, International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, in addition to many other local and national professional associations.

He is a Certified Professional Accountant in Florida and Kentucky. He is accredited in Business Valuation and certified in Financial Forensics by the American Institute of CPAs, and he is a Certified Business Appraiser by the Institute of Business Appraisers.
