Foundation Reception
Each November, the Foundation and Academy hold their Annual Meetings in Chicago. The opening reception for the Annual meeting is a Foundation event held in historic Cathedral Hall at the University Club of Chicago. Founded in 1887, the current venue is housed in a ballroom styled as a “Gothic skyscraper”, the first of its kind, completed in 1909.
The Foundation reception, attended by over 400 registrants and guests, is a major fundraising event for the Foundation. Fellows are asked to donate one billable hour of time and consider contributing to other fundraising campaigns of the Foundation. The cost of this event, including transportation to and from the event is entirely sponsored by friends of the Foundation permitting maximum charitable use of the contributions and pledges received during that evening. In addition to fundraising, the reception provides the first opportunity for Fellows to catch up with old friends, network and forge new relationships.
